The "Ofarin" Dance Theatre, Tashkent
The "Ofarin" Dance Theatre led by Aliya Shalkharova was established in July 2003. In March 2004 its first choreographic show "Rakkosa" (The Dancer) was performed on the stage of the State Academy's Bolshoy Theater, named after Alisher Ofarin.
Within the four years of its creative activity, the Ofarin has produced five individual programs: "Rakkosa", "Dreams come true", "Dancing is my life", "Cradle for the Planet" (Netherlands - Uzbekistan), and "Dreams" " (Great Britain - Uzbekistan). The duration of each program is 1 hour and 20 minutes (non-stop, without the assistance of singers and actors outside of the Ofarin troupe).
In 2004, the Ofarin became a laureate of the international "Summer Festival" in South Korea. In 2006, it became a laureate of the international festival "Kasalka" in Astana, Kazakhstan. Actors of the Ofarin theatre have been on tours to Indonesia, Korea, China, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Israel, Lithuania, Latvia, Japan, France and almost all the CIS countries. The Ofarin represented Uzbekistan at the concerts dedicated to the Summit of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) held in Uzbekistan in 2004, in Kazakhstan in 2005. In 2006, the Ofarin again participated in the concert dedicated to the Summit of the SCO in China.
The Creative team of the Ofarin theatre of dance includes 25 people, all of whom are graduates of the Uzbek Choreographic School (graduates of 1995 - 2007).
The Ofarin theatre of dance is a synthesis of Uzbek national dance art and modern discoveries in the world of dance, as well as the folk dances of various nations of the world.
"While traveling around the world, we introduce Uzbekistan to the world. I believe that only dance distinctly reflects our country, its kindness, hospitability and the warmth of the hearts of Uzbek people. Meanwhile, it has become a tradition on our tours to bring back the native dances of various nations of the world" says the art director of the Ofarin theatre, Aliya Shalkharova.
Aliya graduated from the Uzbek Choreographic School in 1995. The same year, she established the show ballet "Euphoria". This project has operated for 8 years, and was the best on the bandstand of Uzbekistan. But the highest point of "Euphoria" was dancing for singers on a grand scale. So the desire to create something greater became an impulse for establishing the Ofarin theatre of dance, which is recognized by spectators and professionals as the best dance group in Uzbekistan today.
In 2006, Aliya Shalkharova was rewarded by the government of Uzbekistan an Order of Friendship for the development of the arts and the consolidation of relations between people.
Today she is a graduate of the Academy of Dance, specialized as a ballet master-teacher.
