Uzbekistan is a country with a rich history, whose cities date back thousands of years and were key points on the Great Silk Road. Over hundreds of years, entire ensembles of remarkable works of Eastern architecture have taken shape here, and on our Uzbekistan Train Tour, you will encounter all these places.
The tour begins in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, which brings together modern, Soviet, and medieval architecture. In Khiva, you will see the Ichan-Kala fortress, which retains the atmosphere of earlier centuries, where the tallest minarets and the ornate palaces of former rulers stand among clay-built houses. Bukhara will impress you with its ancient mosques, mausoleums, and trading domes filled with vivid fabrics, carpets, and jewellery. Samarkand will be the powerful final chord of this journey thanks to its vast monumental madrasas and mausoleums.
