Turkmenistan is a land filled with beauty - the windswept colors of Yangykala Canyon, calming blue waters of the Caspian Sea and the wild loveliness of the Kopet Dag Mountains. Yet it’s also a country seething with mystery, which is seen in every spark of the Darvaza Gas Crater, sensed in the silence that surrounds Ashgabat’s imposing monuments, and hidden among the pottery shards strewn beneath your feet in ancient Gonur Depe.
Explore Turkmenistan Tour is the ultimate escapade across this peculiar nation, an adventurous blend of history, culture, nature and beachside resort. This travel package includes tours of Turkmenistan’s most popular destinations – Ashgabat, Merv and Darvaza – plus a trip out west to swim in the Caspian Sea, wander through Yangykala Canyon, visit an underground lake, experience small-town Turkmenistan and drive through the rugged Kopet Dag Mountains.

Arrive in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. A driver will meet you at the airport to bring you to your hotel, where check-in begins at noon.
Tour Ashgabat with your private local guide and driver. Meet at the hotel for sightseeing in Ashgabat to the following sites:
  • Old Nisa, a spectacular archaeological site just 15 km from the city. Nisa was the capital of the Parthian Empire, founded in the 3rd century BC and remaining in power for nearly 500 years. Today it’s listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Turkmenbashi Ruhy Mosque, the largest mosque in Central Asia. Also referred to as the Spiritual Mosque and the Gypjak Mosque, it includes a mausoleum with the tombs of former president Turkmenbashi and his immediate family members.
