Varzob Valley near Dushanbe is a welcome haven of rest and resplendent beauty for anyone feeling fatigued from city noise or the never-ending parade of ruins. A beloved leisure spot among Dushanbe’s residents, the valley is known for its scenic views, lofty mountain grandeur and accessibility from the city. Hidden within the valley is Gusgarf Waterfall, 30 meters of fresh mountain water cascading ceaselessly from a high rocky cliff in the Hissar Mountain Range, a true piece of untouched nature.
Varzob Valley and Gusgarf Waterfall Day Tour is a refreshing, full-day getaway into the quiet splendor of Varzob Valley to soak in the sunshine and admire the Hissar Range up close. The tour will start and end in Dushanbe, where an experienced, private local guide and driver will accompany you to the Varzob Valley to see a favorite resting spot of locals, hike to the Gusgarf Waterfall and enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to the city that evening.
In the morning, your guide and driver will meet you at your Dushanbe hotel to begin the trip to Varzob Valley (30km, 50min). Drive along the famous M34 Highway, which skirts the Varzob River and provides gorgeous mountain views along the way.
Arrive to Varzob Valley, famous for its breathtaking views, calming nature and numerous recreational and picnic areas.
Continue your exploration of the valley with a hiking tour to Gusgarf Waterfall (3hrs, 7km there and back). Led by the guide, you’ll follow a walking trail to your destination point, passing small villages and local residents along the way.
Upon reaching the Gusgarf Waterfall, relax under its refreshing spray and gentle thunder. Have a rest, enjoy a quiet picnic and take some photos for memories before returning to city life.
