How do I get a visa for Azerbaijan online?

In order to obtain an e-visa to Azerbaijan, you need to fill out an application form on the website. The processing time takes up to 3 days; the system accepts VISA and MasterCard for payment. You will receive the e-visa by email when it’s ready. You must print it out and keep it for the duration of your stay in country.

Which countries need a visa for Azerbaijan through an embassy?

If you have not found your country in any of the lists above, you will need to apply for a paper visa at the embassy of Azerbaijan in your country. What if there is no Azerbaijan embassy in my area?

If there is not an Azerbaijan embassy in your country of residence, you can apply through the closest embassy in a neighboring country. You can see the list of Azerbaijan missions abroad on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

What documents are required for obtaining an Azerbaijan visa at the embassy?

When applying for an Azerbaijan visa through the embassy, you will need to provide the following documents:

  • Completed application form
  • Valid passport and a photocopy (validity period of the passport must exceed the validity period of the anticipated visa by at least 3 months)
  • Two passport photos (3x4)
  • Proof of medical insurance
  • Letter of Invitation (see below for more details)
  • Receipt for consular fees

What are the requirements for minors under the age of 18?

Along with the documents required for an Azerbaijan visa listed above, a person under the age of 18 will also need to provide a notarized copy of a birth certificate and official written permission from parents or a legal representative.

How can I obtain a Letter of Invitation for my Azerbaijan visa?

The Letter of Invitation (LOI) is issued by a licensed travel agency and sent by the agency to the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On the LOI, the type of visa, duration of the invitation and the number of entries must be indicated.

How much does a visa for Azerbaijan cost?

Azerbaijan visa costs will vary depending on your passport country and the type of visa for which you’re applying. Prices start from 30 USD for a single-entry visa and go up to 350 USD for a multiple-entry visa. The Azerbaijan e-visa fee is 25 USD.

How long does it take to get a visa for Azerbaijan?

It takes up to three business days to get an e-visa to Azerbaijan. For an additional fee, you can also apply via the rush service and receive it sooner. As for getting a paper visa at the embassy, the regular procedure takes up to four business days, but it is also possible to apply via the rush service and get it in half that time.

How can I get a multiple-entry visa to Azerbaijan?

It’s possible to get a multiple-entry e-visa online. You will need to indicate the number of desired entries when you fill in the application. Anyone who needs a visa for Azerbaijan through an embassy can also get a multi-entry paper visa for an additional fee. Visa upon arrival is granted only for single entry.

What if I want to prolong my stay in Azerbaijan?

While in country, you can extend the Azerbaijan visa for up to 60 days through the State Immigration Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan. You must begin the application for a visa extension before the original visa expires in order for your request to be accepted. If approved, you should receive your visa extension in 4-5 days business days.

Does my Azerbaijan visa expire?

An e-visa must be used within 90 days from the date of issue, while a paper Azerbaijan visa will list specific start and end dates that must be observed.

Do I need a transit visa through Azerbaijan?

If your country of residence does not allow you to enter Azerbaijan without a visa (please see the lists above), you should apply for a single or double-entry transit visa online or through an Azerbaijan embassy (please see the list of countries above whose citizens may apply for the e-visa).

While the validity period of a transit visa is 30 days, you are only permitted to stay on the territory of Azerbaijan for up to 5 days within the 30-day period.

Is Azerbaijan part of Schengen?

Azerbaijan is not a part of the European Union or Schengen. As a result, Azerbaijan visa information will vary from the requirements of EU countries, and your Schengen visa will not provide you entry into Azerbaijan.

Do I need to register while in Azerbaijan?

If you plan to stay in Azerbaijan longer than 15 days, you will need to register. Registration may be completed several ways:

  1. Your hotel or hostel can register you (check with them in advance to ensure they provide this service)
  2. You may register online at migration.gov.az. If the system works properly, you can be registered in less than 24 hours.
  3. You can register in person at the migration police station
  4. Your host can scan or mail a letter on your behalf to the migration police.
