And thanks, everything was absolutely perfect. Just a little note: actually the road in very bad shape is the one from Samarkand to Bukhara, while the one from Bukhara to Khiva was waaaay better.

Central Asia Group Tour 2025

We are now back home. We had a lovely time. The Plov making with the family last night was absolutely great. The guide and driver in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were excellent. Samarkand great tour - driver and guide both very good. The pottery class in Gijduvan was interesting, the delivered the plates to the hotel. Minor issues with a couple guides/drivers are things you cannot control. We saw a lot and learned a lot. We have now been to 81 countries; will start working on the next trip to find some more!
Places visited: Almaty, Charyn Canyon, Bishkek, Burana, Ala Archa, Tashkent, Samarkand, Seven Lakes, Penjikent, Gijduvon, Bukhara, Khiva, Kunya Urgench, Darvaza Gas Crater, Ashgabat.

Bukhara guide was very good! Two days in Samarkand were wonderful and we found Valentina to be a fantastisch guide! Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan all tour run well.

Bukhara is a beautiful place. Great service from the driver! We look forward to the new tour.
Accommodation: Tashkent – hotel Inspira-S, Bukhara – hotel Emerald, Samarkand – hotel Samaria, Almaty – hotel Kazzhol Park.

The organization was tip/top. The hotels were fine, the train journeys comfortable, the transfers well organized, never had to wait for a driver etc... a compliment for this. The same goes for the local agencies OrexCA who follow up very well once on site (text messages etc.) The 2 guided tours: the guide in Samarkand was VERY good. Was able to give a solid, substantiated answer to every question. The guide in Bukhara was also good, although I sometimes had the feeling that she was freewheeling a bit on some questions, but generally certainly okay. Thanks again for the excellent organization.
