In the morning the driver will pick you from a hotel in Samarkand and transfer to Sentyab mountain village in the picturesque Nuratau valley (230 km, 3-4 hrs). Arrive in a mountain village at noon and your host welcomes you and shows the homestay facilities. Lunch with the local family. Most houses in the village have gardens with river passing through. In the spring, the valley becomes extraordinarily beautiful.
After lunch, wander around the village to see the old mosque, local school, village shop and local houses (built in the traditional way using local rocks). It is fantastic to see locals doing their livelihood activities. You will meet friendly people willing to talk to you. Sentyab is an ideal place where you can relax, drink tea or read your favorite book. Late afternoon chat with your host family and participate in cooking tasty dinner from natural products. Wake up early in the morning and enjoy the sunrise. Have breakfast with the family. Start your light hiking with a local escort guide (7-8 km, 3-4hrs). Pass village, old water mill, reach to top and see a few petroglyphs, Arabic script on a rock, visit Korgan castle and cave. Way back pass the spring and old mosque. Have lunch with your host family.
Transfer to Nurata (110km), to visit a local mosque known for its holy spring waters and to explore the ruins of a fortress built by Alexander the Great. Continue driving and visit Rabat-i-Malik Caravanserai ruins and Sardoba, an ancient reservoir (80km) on the way. Next stop is Gijduvan (50km) is a small town whose traditional crafts and ceramics have been sought after in Central Asia for centuries due to their quality and colorful, decorative style. Visit the ceramic museum and workshop before continuing to Bukhara (50 km). Arrive in Bukhara for drop-off at your hotel. End of Sentyab village homestay 2-Day Tour.
