Discover Muynak and Yurt Camp tour is an excellent opportunity to uncover the secrets of the Aral Sea area. The program includes the most thriving places of Muynak and Nukus, from the Cemetery of ships and mysterious desert to an ancient cemetery and a fortress, it is a great balance of history, nature, and culture. It is time to start your unforgettable two days vacation.

Day 1Nukus – Muynak
Your driver will come to your hotel in the morning and start your two days tour to Muynak. Depart Nukus towards Muynak (210 km, 3hrs). Muynak was once a thriving city on the banks of the Aral Sea. Arriva in Yurt camp, fully experience the nature of the local region, and have lunch. Start your tour in “Cemetery of ships”, the former port with abandoned ships in the sand, and visit the Local History Museum (might be closed without prior notice). You can view the former site of the Aral Sea from a viewing platform, climb up a lighthouse. Later walk down the stairs and onto the dried-up seafloor to view the ships up close. Take pictures of unusual place and beautiful desert. Camp-style dinner and enjoy the starry sky at night in the middle of the desert. Overnight in the yurt*.

Day 2Muynak – Mizdakhan, Gyaur Kala – Nukus
Wake up early in the morning and enjoy the sunrise and listen to the silence. After breakfast, drive back to Nukus via Mizdakhan Necropolis – an ancient cemetery and one of the oldest and most visited pilgrimage sites of Karakalpakstan. Continue to the remains of the Gyaur Kala Fortress, which was destroyed by Genghis-Khan. Arrive in Nukus and transfer to the local airport/hotel. End of the Discover Muynak and Yurt Camp tour.

Note: Drive can also pick-up from the airport and start the tour if you are arriving at Nukus by air.

Note: * In case yurt camp is not available, we will replace it with a guest house in Muynak.

  • Transportation during the tour (1-2 sedan, 3-8 minivan);
