Day 1 (Fri): Flight to Ashgabat
Flight to Ashgabat from your city.
Day 2 (Sat): Arrival in Ashgabat. Drive to Nokhur Mountain Village
Arrival into the International Airport of Ashgabat. Passport Control & Customs procedures. Meeting & transfer to hotel. Accommodation & rest. Half Day SS of Ashgabat includes: Park dedicated to Turkmen horses - the pride of Turkmen, Arch of Neutrality, Presidential Square, Gulistan Bazar, Monument of Lenin which was erected in 1927 and was one those few monuments which survived the earthquake of 1948, Ertogrul Gazy Mosque.
Early afternoon drive by 4WD ~190km & 3,5 h/d/d by 4WD to Nokhur Mountain Village via Geokdere & Julge valleys of Kopetdag Mountains to have a close impression of the mountains and new projects of government to turn Geokdepe Valley into net of luxurious resort centers of Turkmenistan. En route stop to visit: Turkmenbashynyn Ruhy Metjidi which is biggest in Central Asia & Mausoleum Complex of the tombs of Turkmenbashy and his parents with his brothers, Saparmyrat Khadji Mosque built in Geokdepe Fortress where there is a local museum which demonstrates a heroic defense of Geokdepe in January 1881) & Kow Ata Underground Lake for extra entry cost paid directly (Some information about underground lake: Size of cave: length 250 m, depth 60 m, average width 25 m. Size of lake: length 75 m, max. width 23 m, max. depth 14 m. Volume of the lake - 6500 cubic meter). Arrival & accommodation at a local family house. Short SS of Nokhur Atractions: "Gyz Bibi" Pilgrimage site & its unique cemetery where each tomb has the horns of mountain goats, The Great Tree - oldest tree in the village thought to be 800 years old. Evening short introduction with local silk textile weavers & dinner at local family. O/N at Nokhur.
*Passports with 2 colored photos will be required for registration at the CTB in Ashgabat.
Day 3 (Sun): Drive to Dekhistan
Morning drive by 4WD ~480km & 6 h/d.d to Dekhistan (Mashad-Messirian Medieval Town Ruins which dates 1-17th cc.) via Paraw Bibi Shrine & Colorful Mountains of Magtymguly/Etrek Districts. Upon arrival SS of Mashad-Messirian Monuments. O/N under canvas next to the portal of the Great Mosque of 13th c. and Minarets of 11th c. in the "left town" which gives unforgettable views of the stars with a feeling of the night from 1001 Shehrizada's Tales.
*Food for dinner & breakfast should be bought on the way to Dehistan.
Day 4 (Mon): Drive to Turkmenbashy
Morning drive by 4WD ~320km & 4,5 h/d.d. to Turkmenbashy via Balkanabat & Mollagara Salt Lakes - very popular bath place used for vary treatments which are much more salty than the Dead Sea. Arrival & accommodation. After short rest proceed with SS in/around Turkmenbashy includes: The Gate of Central Asia - symbolical monument put for those who came to explore Central Asia from Russia in 17th c., City Bazaar where it is sold famous Caspian Black Caviar, Smoked Sturgeon, Awaza Settlement with its nice beaches which will be turned soon into the free economic touristic zone with decades of luxurious hotels, resorts & health clubs.
Day 5 (Tue): Half Day in Turkmenbashy. Train to Ashgabat
Half Day Relax in Turkmenbashy & Check out till 13.00.
(15.30) Transfer to the Train Station of Mary to catch a train to Ashgabat. Train # 605. Departure at 16.05 (time of departure & train number subject to be changed).
Note: There is no restaurant in the train so food/drinks for dinner should be bought in advance. And also to drink alcoholic drinks & smoking is forbidden in trains.
Day 6 (Wed): Arrival in Ashgabat. Drive to Derweze via Kekirdek Village
Morning arrival into Ashgabat Train Station at 07.30. Morning visit Ashgabat's famous Oriental Bazar - Jygyldyk (Tolkuchka in Russian - open on Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays) where it is sold almost everything: camels (Sundays only), carpets(Sundays only), cars (Sundays only) and etc. where is possible to find plenty of souvenirs such as carpets, aladjas, handcrafts, felts, embroideries, jewelers (Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays only) and etc. It is also one of the best places to meet face-to-face with Turkmen culture and people.
After Bazar drive to the Hippodrome of Ashgabat to watch the Sunday Horse Race which is free to enter for all (races are held on Sundays from April till June & September till November. However, race time & date is subject to be changed by the State Association of "Turkmen Atlary") which gives a chance to see & familiarize with the best horses of Turkmenistan: Turkmen Horses - Akhalteke which thought to be the rootstock of Arab, Thoroughbred and etc in motion and "horse crazy" people rooting for their favorite horses without any betting. After SS of Ashgabat drive by 4WD ~270 km & 3 h/d/d to Derweze across the Caragum desert.
En route stop to visit Kekirdek Settled Nomadic village where will be introduction with life of the village which is surrounded with naked dunes of Caragum Desert: visit one of the wells of the village and watch how they get water from it. Also there one can get information about Caragum desert and its wells; how they cut sheep wool and make some rugs and felts; how they bake bread and ishlekli (one of the national meals cooked in ash & fire.); how they milk a camel and they can taste the camel milk drink called "chal" and etc. Lunch at Kekirdek in local style like as palow & chorba from fresh food. After lunch & short rest proceed the way to Darvaza with en route stops at some typical dunes of Caragum to enjoy with photos. Arrival & visit water based, clay based & flaming gas craters of Caragum Desert. Overnight near the flaming gas crater in tents.
Day 7 (Thu): Drive to Dashoguz via Kunya Urgench
Morning proceed the way to Dashoguz across Caragum desert by 4WD ~370 km & 5 h/d/d. En route stop to visit: Kunya Urgench - the capital of Khorezmshahs (3-16th cc.) inscribed into the World Heritage Book of UNESCO: SS of the old city includes: Portal of Caravansaray (11-14th cc.), Mamun Minaret (10-11th cc.), Il Arslan Mausoleum (12th c.), Sultan Tekesh Mausoleum (13th c.), Academy of Horezm (3-13th cc.), Kutlug Timur Minaret (14th c.) - one of the tallest minarets in Central Asia, Turabek Hanum Mausoleum, Mausoleums of Najmeddin Kubra (13th c.) & Soltan Ali (15th c.) Mausoleums. After SS proceed the way to Dashoguz. Accommodation & rest.
Day 8 (Fri): Flight to Ashgabat. Drive to Mary
Morning transfer to the local airport of Dashoguz to catch a flight to Ashgabat. Type of Aircraft Boeing 717-200. Flight T5-112. Departure at 12.10 & arrival at 13.00 (flight time is subject to be changed by Turkmenistan Airlines). Upon arrival drive to Mary by 4WD ~370km & 4,5 h/d.d. with en route stop at Abiverd Medieval Town Ruins (20th c. BC - 16thc. AD). Arrival & accommodation. Short walking tour in Mary.
Day 9 (Sat): Full Day Exploring Margush & Old Merv
Drive to by 4WD ~110km & 2,5 h/d/d visit Margush Country (Gongur Depe - capital of Margush) - Bronze Age Civilization Sites recognized as 5th Civilization of the Earth recently & Birthplace of Zoroastrianism - Fire Worshipping (4-3 mil. BC- 6th c. BC) inscribed in the World Heritage Book.
After SS of Margush drive back to Mary. En route stop to have SS of Old Merv known as Mary Shahu Jahan-King of the World for about 300 years became the biggest city in Asia & 8 years Capital of Khalifat, inscribed into the monuments list of World Heritage Book, protected by the UNESCO: Gyz Gala & Oglan Gala (6-7th cc.), Complex of Askhabs (8-14th cc.), Giaur Gala (4th c. BC), Buddist Complex (4-6th cc.), Beni Makhan Mosque - first Mosque build in Central Asia (7th c.), Erk Gala (6th c. BC), Soltan Gala (11th c.), Soltan Sanjar Mausoleum (12th c.), Ibn Zeid Mausoleum (12th c.). After Old Merv drive back to Mary (~35 km & 30min d/d). Arrival & rest.
Day 10 (Sun): Flight to Ashgabat. Full Day in Ashgabat
Morning transfer to the local airport of Mary to catch a flight to Ashgabat. Type of Aircraft Boeing 717-200. Flight T5-128. Departure at 08.00 & arrival at 08.40 (flight time is subject to be changed by Turkmenistan Airlines). Arrival & Full Day SS in Ashgabat: Ashgabat's famous Oriental Bazar - Jygyldyk (Tolkuchka in Russian-open on Thursday, Saturday & Sunday-best day to visit) where it is sold almost everything: camels (Sundays only), carpets(Sundays only), cars (Sundays only) and etc. where is possible to find plenty of souvenirs such as carpets, aladjas, handcrafts, felts, embroideries, jewelers (Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays only) and etc. It is also one of the best places to meet face-to-face with Turkmen culture and people.

Nissa was the capital of Parthian Empire which lasted for about 600 years and was the biggest competitor for the Rome Empire. Here there were the palace & temple buildings, the depositories & the treasury of the Parthian Kings. During the Old Nissa excavations the monumental constructions are exposed - the temples (round & tower). Taking into consideration the great scientific-cultural meaning, the site of the ancient town is declared the historical-cultural preserve. Recently it was inscribed at the World Heritages Book by the UNESCO.), Health Path of Turkmenbashy built on the mountains, National Museum of History & Ethnography (closed on Tuesdays) for extra entry cost paid directly (it is highly recommendable to visit that museum after all historical sites visited), Cable Way lifted Mountain Observing Center (closed on Mondays), located close to Ashgabat on Kopetdag Mountains, Walking tour to via Park of Independency with stops to visit Monument of Independency & Ruhnama.
Day 11 (Mon): Flight to Home
Transfer to the International Airport of Ashgabat to catch a flight to your city.
