Description: This adventure tour in Uzbekistan is an example of a hosted package tour, consisting of mountain trekking and one-day hotel accommodation. In the following itinerary only the highlights are shown.

Day 1: Arrival in Tashkent airport. Pick-up, arrival to hotel. Accommodation in hotel. Lunch. City tour around Tashkent: Independence Square, Navoi Theater square, Barak-Khan Madrasah, The Kaffal-Shashi mausoleum (15th c.), Kukeldash Madrasah (16th c.), the Djuma Mosque (9th c.). Dinner. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 2: Breakfast. Transfer by truck to the foot of the Turkestan range (the Pamir-Alay mountains region) (370 km). Lunch. Camp 3 on the bank of the Chegesly River. Elevation: 1600 m. Dinner. Overnight in tents.

Day 3: Breakfast. Beginning of the trek. Follow a good path to the upper Chegesly Valley. Lunch. Camp 2 in the alpine zone at the foot of the Jiptik pass. Elevation: 3400 m, Distance: 9 km, Time: 7 hrs. Dinner. Overnight in tents.

Day 4: Breakfast. Cross the bare Jiptik pass. The path leads us up to the pass at 3860 m and then down to the juniper forests of the valley of the Jiptik River. Lunch. Camp 3 in a pleasant grove on the bank of a swift mountain river. E: 2400 m, D: 7 km, T: 6 hrs.

Day 5: Breakfast. Trek through mysterious groves along the river and across a bridge, then a steep ascent to the Kugandi pass (3420 m). From this pass you will relish an exciting view of the Karatura River valleyand the ice-capped peak Karatura (5482 m). We descend on a gentle path to the Minteke River. Lunch. Camp 4 in the alpine zone. E: 3100 m, D: 13 km, T: 8 hrs. Dinner. Overnight in tents.

Day 6: Breakfast. Walk along the ancient moraine of the Minteke glacier. Lunch. Camp 5 at the foot of the pass E: 4000 m, D: 6 km, T: 6 hrs. Dinner. Overnight in tents.

Day 7: : Breakfast. Strenuous day. Ascent to the Southern Minteke pass (4180 m) along a 200-m stony slope. From this pass you will enjoy the panorama of the Shurovskoy glacier - one of the biggest northern glaciers of the slopes of the Turkestan range. Descent through piles of boulders without a trail. Lunch. Camp 6 on the right moraine of the glacier E: 3400 m, D: 8 km, T: 6 hrs. Dinner. Overnight in tents.

Day 8: Breakfast. Rest day and optional excursions. Lunch and dinner. Overnight in tents.

Day 9: Breakfast. Easy route to the upper reaches of the glacier and ascent to the Shurovskoy pass (4300 m) along a snow slope. Lunch. Descent by spurs to the Kchemich glacier. E: 3700 m, D: 10 km, T: 7 hrs. Dinner. Overnight in tents.

Day 10: Breakfast. Descent from the glacier along the Kchemich River. Lunch. Camp 8 on the bank of the river. E: 3000 m, D: 8 km, T: 6 hrs. Dinner. Overnight in tents.

Day 11: Breakfast. Strenuous day. Long ascent to the pass (4050 m). Descent to the beautiful lake Katakyl-Kamma. Lunch. Camp 9 on the shore of the lake E: 2800 m. D: 10 T: 8 hrs. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
