Ayaz-Kala camp is situated in the Elikkalinsky district of the Republic of Karakalpakistan. It lies on a picturesque steppe hill near the ruins of the ancient fortress of Ayaz-Kala. Distance from Khiva is 100 km, from Urgench - 70 km, from Bukhara - 450 km, from Nukus - 150 km. Arrival from Khiva and Urgench is across the Beruniy pontoon bridge on the Amudarya River.

Ayaz-Kala camp is located on the steppe in the open air. The nearest town is 25 km away. There are vast expanses of steppe around the camp, which are very convenient for camel riding and you can view Ayazkul Lake. It is a very nice place for fishing and boating.

Yurts are situated on a hill 30-40 meters in height. Winds are steady, and save the camp from flies and mosquitoes. The Ayaz-Kala historical complex consisting of three ancient fortresses, is near the camp. The ruins of the first fortress, Ayaz-Kala 1, lay on a 60 meter high hill; the second one, Ayaz-Kala II, 20-30 meters; and the last one, Ayaz-Kala Palace, is situated lower than the others. Total area of the ancient settlements is 9000 sq. m. The ancient settlements have aged well and can be seen from far away.

From 20 to 25 guests can be accommodated in every yurt. There are 2 shower houses, 2 restrooms, and a kitchen with 3 fireplaces. Three meals a day consist of dishes of Karakalpak, Kazakh, and Uzbek cuisine. There are also a variety of salads and light snacks.

There are 3 topchans at the camp, one of which has an awning. On warm evenings you can lie on topchans and enjoy the most beautiful sunsets and stars.

In the camp there is the great opportunity to take an interesting camel ride, to visit the ancient ruins of the Ayaz-Kala fortresses, to boat on Ayazkul Lake, and to enjoy an exotic folklore concert of musicians from the neighboring village.

Ayaz-Kala yurt camp receives travelers from March to April.
