July 22 in Tashkent arrived the first high-speed train "Afrosiyob", built by the company "PATENTES TALGO S.L." (Spain) as part of the project for high-speed passenger trains between Tashkent and Samarkand.

On the eve of 20^th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan a significant event happened. Having made the trip from Europe to Asia, first by sea and then on the highways of steel in Russia and Kazakhstan in our Republic came first in Central Asia, high-speed train "Afrosiyob", made in Spain.

Composition of "Afrosiyob" High-Speed Train

- Two locomotives;
- Nine comfortable cars:

2 wagons VIP-class;

2 wagons Business class;

4 wagons, Economy class;

1 wagon "Bistro".

The maximum commercial speed of 250 km/hour. Track gauge is 1520 mm which allows the train to be in stable condition throughout the journey. The front design of "Afrosiyob" High-Speed Train - an aerodynamic, streamlined by the pressure wave and wind drift.

In the carriages of the train are all conditions for comfortable accommodation of passengers. All stores are equipped with soft, comfortable seating with a folding backrest, table and footrest, a built audio and video module, monitors for viewing video and audio clips, each seat is equipped with a lamp for reading. The windows of cars are made of insulating laminated glass, equipped with sun-projective curtains. Comfortable climate always supported in the cabin in any season of the year. In the salons of all cars have hangers for clothes and storage space for large luggage. Above the seat cabin luggage racks are available.

In the wagon "Bistro" passengers can enjoy a cup of tea, coffee or soft drinks, and they will offer a menu with a selection of Oriental and European dishes. All zones of the train are zones for non smoking. In each wagon is board that inform about the rout, number of wagon, the air temperature in the cabin and the current speed.

Salons of wagon have carpet, providing comfort and good sound insulation. In the carriages also available all the condition for people with physical disabilities. In 3^rd wagon of the train have a sit with a reliable lock to accommodate wheelchairs. Place is equipped with a steward call button. Nearby is a special toilet designed for use by handicapped persons in wheelchairs.

To verify compliance with the "Afrosiyob" train safety norms to be used on Uzbek Railways held a full cycle of the preliminary, acceptance and certification testing of the train.
